Luca Trevisani

2011 residency

Curated by: Maria Chiara Valacchi

In Luca Trevisani’s work (1979) there is the search for the crystallization of an idea. Once the though seems to be defined everything changes, implodes and sets up a new thing. A continuous flow, a passage of energies that structures matter in a wide range of forms. Trevisani takes an item to transmute it into another. Nature is the point of departure for metamorphosis. The physiognomy of plants is altered in substance but not in the appearance. Prickly pear leaves, made with polyurethane foam shapes, are stacked on a slender support that seems to barely support them. Suspended objects oscillate lightly to continue the kinetic idea of a construction process.
